Hi Saga Musix. Just wanted to express thanx for the listening pleasure.

I first came across yours and Bacter's tracks on modarchive (Makes Some Sense being one of my favorites) and came here to find the latest; just finished listening to Return which is another great track!

Best,
dadanyet
Comment: Glad you enjoy them!

greetings,
i'm a novice artist, getting started in tracking. i borrowed samples from other modules to compose my first track and i was curious as to whether it's okay or not to do. i've tried to credit as many as possible in the track. been wanting to publish it to modarchive or somewhere else but i wanted to make sure that it was alright with how i sourced my samples.
thanks in advance!
Comment: Unless the author of the module you took your sample from specifically asked not to do so, or if the module is provided under a license which would disallow it, it's usually fine. Giving credits is usually the most important thing - mention where you got your samples from. It's usually fine if you do so.

Thanks for the reply! Yes, I figured as much, probably one has to go through the process alone, to find out which approach works the best. Specifically also about OpenMPT, but I believe there's better place to ask about that than here. Thanks again, and have a good evening.

Hi Jojo,
just wondering, do you have any workflow tips for those getting into trackers? I can't really find much about this online. For example - is it worthwhile to do instruments for each track individually or premade them in advance with samples looped with proper loop points. Those things just take so much time and the creativity soon perishes away, and in compos premade instruments and maps would surely be advantageous, yet they might not fit all songs equally well.

Thanks in advance,
Tid.
Comment: I think as so often, the answer is "it depends". I sample a lot of material from my synthesizers and prepare it in SFZ format, often with loop points and automatic cross-fade. Most of those loops sound good out of the box but the cross-fade doesn't always work, so I may have to finetune them when I use them for the first time. Other times I know exactly which sound I want to use but I haven't sampled it yet. So for me it's really a mixture of both. You're right that it takes time and an idea you had may simply disappear a minute later if you're busy sampling instruments. To avoid that, I record myself playing the ideas on my synth and then translate them into the tracker later, or I just address the synth directly from within OpenMPT via MIDI and then again create the samples later. So being able to act quickly is crucial, but I think it's just as crucial to not spend days of sampling before trying to get anything done, because then you will also just not end up producing anything. In the end, workflow is always about what works best for you, and this doesn't necessarily need to be what works for others. I hope that helps!

¡Hello, Saga Musix!
I am a man who makes cheats for videogames. Many years ago, I watched this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1f8w9MOD68k
It's a CENSOR cracktro video, of a SEGA Genesis videogame.
The cracktro actually has no music, but in this video, the uploader (called "MIC cracktro"), has set a mysterious dance music in the video, and I don't know any information to find the full music.
On video description, the only info is "...music : WAIKO MCSOUND...".
I searched "WAIKO MCSOUND" on all the web, but nothing found.
¿Do you know any hint, or information about that enigmatic tune?
Please, take your time to reply me ^^
Comment: Hi there, I have no idea about this tune, but you could ask on the ModArchive forums instead: https://modarchive.org/forums/index.php?board=50.0

Hi there!
Just wanted to tell you I really loved Tapdancer from Revision Streaming Compo! Keep up the great work man and looking forward to adding it on SoundCloud if you decide to upload it there. :)

All the best.

Comment: Sorry, I don't use SoundCloud. Among other things, its audio quality is really terrible.

2019-01-21, 18:28About your music. by Justin [NyTR0S96]
Hello there. My name is Justin and I was just here to both complement you and your music and ask you something. I must say ever seance i got into tracker music, I saw a lot of your tunes and wanted to try to see if there was more songs from you as you pop up a few times in OpenMPT. I really love your music and am now a huge fan. now about your music, I was wondering if i could use it in my twitch stream as background music. i ask because i know how musicians are with streaming with their music. If you will allow me to, you will be linked in one of my twitch panels. Its okay if you don't want me to though.
Comment: I am generally okay with that as long as people stick with the provided CC-BY-NC-SA license, and that means that the output of your stream should also be licensed similarly - most importantly that means no revenue of any sort must be generated through that stream.
