2014 - News archive.
November 18th, 2014Last month I participated in the One Synth Challenge at kvraudio.com. Synthetic Journey is the outcome of this, and it ranked 17th out of 42 in the competition.
October 28th, 2014I decided to fix up two tracks that would no longer play correctly in OpenMPT:
- Time Warp had IT Compatible Playback mode enabled, but "exploited" a bug in OpenMPT's portamento handling for multisample instruments, so it would no longer sound correct in OpenMPT 1.22. The module has been updated to play correctly in OpenMPT 1.22 and newer.
- Firedance had a weird problem with the Korg M1 plugin which I did not encounter until I reinstalled my computer and the Korg plugins. One of the sounds used incorrect mixing levels since the reinstall and was suddenly sounding far too loud. I have now re-saved the file with the correct configuration for that sound. Also, I slightly edited the track and added some portamentos towards the end; it's just a really minor edit, though. The OGG download has been updated with this change as well.
August 29th, 2014At Buenzli 2014, I ranked 4th in the combined music compo with my track Superwave.
August 15th, 2014Last weekend, Bacter and me entered another coop track into the One Sample Tracked Music Compo at Evoke 2014: Atomic Playboy ranked 4th in the compo.
July 29th, 2014Last weekend, the Nordlicht demoparty happened and I contributed two pieces of music:
June 6th, 2014I'm part of the Sound of Scenesat Volume 3 compilation with two tracks that have been released already as well as one new remix: Metal Machine is a remix of Patrick Phelan's well-known track from the Lotus 3 game. Furthermore, I attended Outline 2014 last weekend, and competed in the streamed music compo with my dream trance track Miles Ahead, which ended up fifth.
April 24th, 2014Last weekend, I attended Revision 2014. Bacter and me ranked 6th in the tracked music compo with our coop track Whiskey Drops.
It's also worth mentioning that it's now been more or less exactly ten years (around the end of March, I guess) since I started using ModPlug, and I'm still using it... Time flies!
